Maison LAPIN is an androgynous and menswear clothing brand based in London created by the fashion design graduate Bruno Coelho. Bruno loves the challenge of working with different materials beyond fabrics and mixing them together in order to create a strong and meaningful piece. For Bruno, fashion became a form of statement and expression of subjects that are important to him, enabling him to have a voice as well as others who search for their own voices. As a designer, Bruno wants to be able to create a connection with people and the world. With each project, Bruno aims to raise awareness to any hidden messages within the society and the world. PARADISUM Seeking freedom after a long period of darkness and loneliness caused by personal experience with bullying. PARADISUM, explores the story behind the founder and designer: Bruno Coelho’s childhood through the reconstruction of the individual as a stronger and freer being. “Where words overcome fears, getting one step closer to the promised land” explained Bruno. A collection that allows you to scream and shout out loud. “Fight against your demons and overcome the darkness that once haunted your heart” Bruno continued. PARADISUM fuses macramé and print with parachute drapes and extraordinary details inspired by workwear that bring in functionality to the silhouette. The explosion of colour enables you to forgive the darkness that you have been through and make you realise “how special and amazing you are” the designer added. Following a long period of darkness, there will always be an extended process of the reconstruction of an individual in order to understand and forgive the past. “Your own deconstruction is inevitable so you can rise strong and unstoppable” Bruno said. PARADISUM is the strength to remind you that no matter how low you are feeling, to never give up on fighting for your happiness and wellbeing. “Tears fall but so do the self-doubts, you are worth it, in a world where only fighters have a chance” the designer affirmed. “The secret for your freedom is inside you Fight for your demons Fight your yourself and against your self-doubts Fight the darkness Only then you will experience the light and the happiness you have been searching for” LAPIN Press Release written and designed by @adanielaaraújo Collection by @maison_lapin_

The duvet coat has always held gold podium in our hearts. The coat that bring us back to childhood: the family snow trips and the fantasy to add drama to your look and reshape your body while embracing your silhouette. In a constant hunt for the perfect garment to feel at home, the duvet coat makes you feel like you have never left your bed.
After a year of global health crisis, travel bans, and a massive social life destruction. We were left feeling miserable, which suddenly reinforced the appeal of the constant search for comfort and practicality in our wardrobes. Even though we are tired of staying at home full-time, we have gotten used to the warmth we feel while being in our place. Wherever we are, we’re in a constant search to escape the stress of the everyday life. The duvet coat represents a lot more than a simple garment. It’s a symbol of nostalgia, escapism and a feeling of being at peace. It can be defined as the safe place you run to when anxious. The fantasy of leaving the house to work, in bed. Brands like Givenchy, Celine, Raf Simons, Rick Owens and Christopher Esber created their own take on the duvet coat for Autumn/Winter 21 which summarises the comfort-wear we have been seeking for the pandemic. Using duvet coats as the protective layer we need in order to feel the calm in our lives as they offer versatility, comfort, practicality and weatherproof properties. It may or may not be the biggest trend for the autumn/winter 21 season, but most importantly, the duvet coat could be a source of escapism, a peaceful manifest of identity and protection. This is not about a naïve trend but a form of communication – the contemporary fashion as a form of expression. The oversized silhouettes with layered vests, capes and detachable components that add a dramatic appeal. It is the carapace we have been looking for to escape the anxiety and the fear that persists in our lives. - Daniela Araújo Nuestro comportamiento como individuos consiste constantemente en controlar nuestras acciones de una manera que muestre la impresión más favorable de uno mismo. Our behaviour consists in a constant control of our actions in order to show the most flattering side of ourselves. Llevado al extremo, las imperfecciones están siendo removidas y reemplazadas por estándares de belleza que eliminan la autenticidad de nuestros rostros. When taken to the extreme, imperfections are removed and replaced by beauty standards that erase the authenticity from our faces. Los filtros son divertidos, creativos y sin duda hay un gran trabajo detrás de ellos. La moraleja recae en lograr separarnos de la realidad virtual (Ventana) pasarlo bien y amarnos tal y como somos.
Filters are fun, creative, and there's certainly a lot of work behind them. The moral lies under the management that separates the virtual reality (Window) from us whilst having a good time and loving ourselves for who we are. |
